Eastman Turbo Oil 2389™ is alow viscosity gas turbine oil, offering exceptional cold-startcapability.
Many large commercial airlines use Turbo Oil 2389 in theirauxiliary power units (APUs), because of the reliability it affordsthis equipment when starting after long, cold-soaks at altitude.Turbo Oil 2389 is the only MIL-PRF-7808 Grade 3 qualified oil thatis fully approved in all Honeywell and UTC Aerospace Systems APUs.Turbo Oil 2389 is formulated from synthetic base stocks andadvanced technology additives, to provide the combined thermal andoxidation stability properties of commercial Type II lubricants,with the low temperature fluidity characteristics of a 3 cSt oil.It also has load-carrying ability equal to, or better than, otherapproved MIL-PRF-7808 Grade 3 oils.

This lubricant combines the thermal and oxidation stability ofour commercial 5 cSt synthetic lubricant, Eastman Turbo Oil 2380,with the ability to flow at extremely low environmentaltemperature. In addition, it has gear-carrying ability equal to orbetter than other approved MILPRF-7808L Grade 3 oils.
Eastman Turbo Oil 2389 thus affords the military operator thelower viscosity advantage of MIL-PRF-7808L Grade 3 oils whileproviding the higher quality advantages of the Type II commercialoils, especially with respect to better thermal and oxidationstability.
